SUNNYVALE PUBLIC SAFETY TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY RESOURCE AT COLUMBIA NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – One of the most important services offered by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) is the neighborhood resource officer program. Neighborhood resource officers (NRO) provide a bridge between DPS, schools and neighborhoods. Through the end of the year, an NRO will join Columbia Neighborhood Center (CNC) staff every Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The officer will be available to the community to answer questions, and provide guidance and information about available community resources. The officer’s presence at CNC will also serve to help strengthen the relationship between DPS and the youth who participate in CNC programs.

More information on this program is available by calling (408) 730-7140, TDD (408) 730-7501.
