SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ATTEMPTED MURDER

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers have arrested a suspect in an a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the parking lot of Macy’s, 200 W. Washington Ave., Sunnyvale. Anthony Green, a 20-year-old East Palo Alto resident was arrested by DPS officers on scene, and was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for attempted murder, possession of a loaded firearm in public, possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting arrest. Officers also recovered the gun that was believed to have been used in the shooting.

Brian Sabathia, a 20-year-old San Jose resident, suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen as a result of an altercation in the parking lot. Both Sabathia and Green had attended an event at The Abyss nightclub, located in the 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. The nightclub had closed just prior to the shooting. Sabathia underwent surgery at a local hospital, and is listed in stable condition.
