SUNNYVALE council gives go-ahead to moffett towers development

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale City Council has given the green light to plans submitted by the Jay Paul Company to build an ambitious 1.7 million-square-foot
class “A” office development. The new development would incorporate seven eight-story office towers, a 40,000 square-foot amenity building, plus parking structures.

The planned development would sit on former Lockheed Martin property, just north of the intersection of US 101 and SR 237. Because of its size and location in Moffett Park, the development will also provide a visual gateway into the City for travelers on U.S. 101.

Jay Paul, speaking at the November 14 City Council meeting, emphasized his company’s commitment to building environmentally-responsible developments. He told Council that not only does this approach provide cost-savings to future tenants, but it is what should be and what needs to be done today in building design, adding, “it’s the right thing to do.”

The infusion of a large inventory of class “A” office space will provide room for business growth in Sunnyvale, and specifically in tech-rich Moffett Park. While the economy is turning around, Sunnyvale has been hampered by a lack of class “A” office space, which is in abundance elsewhere in the region. When completed, the Moffett Towers development is expected to help lure new business into the City, strengthening the economic recovery.
