SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale City Council appointed six new members to City boards and commissions at their December 12 meeting.
The appointments include Patrick Grant to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, with a term expiring June 30, 2008; Dennis Shinseki to the Board of Library Trustees, with a term expiring June 30, 2007; Nirmala Vaidyanathan to the Heritage Preservation Commission, with a term expiring June 30, 2010. Patricia Plant and Florence Tindle were both appointed to the Housing and Human Services Commission, with terms ending June 30, 2008, and June 30, 2007, respectively. Jennifer Cole was appointed to the Personnel Board, with a term expiring June 30, 2010.
Board and commission members are appointed by City Council. In some cases, special requirements or qualifications must be met to be eligible for a board or commission, such as residency, voter registration or professional experience.
