SUNNYVALE RECOGNIZES GREEN BUSINESSES

SUNNYVALE, Calif.Sunnyvale’s mayor and Councilmembers recognized a number of local businesses at their Tuesday evening (April 3) meeting for achieving the county’s coveted Green Business certification. To achieve certification, companies must comply with all environmental regulations while meeting standards for energy conservation; water conservation; pollution prevention; and waste reduction, recycling and buying recycled products.

Mayor Otto Lee, who was joined by Santa Clara County Green Business Specialist Gretchen Hayes, presented certificates of recognition to Fabric Banners, For Other Living Things, Labcyte, Pine Cone Lumber, Sports Basement and Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church. In addition, the City’s own Library, City Hall, City Hall Annex and City Hall South Annex joined other City sites previously certified as Green Businesses.

Sunnyvale businesses recognized in past years for their Green Business certifications include All Laser Services, E.O.R.M., Juniper Networks, Sunnyvale Ford, Toyota Sunnyvale and Ultimodule.
