SUNNYVALE SETS TWO REDEVELOPMENT PUBLIC HEARINGS

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Two public hearings – one before the Planning Commission and the other before the City Council – have been set regarding a proposed change to the Downtown Specific Plan. The plan amendment stems from a request from RREEF/Sand Hill Company, the proposed new developer for the Sunnyvale Town Center site.

The proposed change to the plan would allow an additional 40,000 square feet of office space and a hotel with up to 200 rooms to be built on the site. The additional office and hotel space would be an addition to the previously-approved redevelopment project.

The first public hearing on the proposed amendment will be at the Monday, April 16 Planning Commission meeting. This meeting will be held in City Council Chambers and will begin at 7 p.m. Council Chambers are located in City Hall at 456 W. Olive Ave.

The second public hearing is scheduled for the Tuesday, May 1 City Council meeting. This meeting, also held in City Council Chambers, will begin at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be broadcast live in KSUN-15, the City’s government access television station.

Proposed plans for this project are available for public inspection at the Planning Division in City Hall, weekdays between 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Staff reports for Planning Commission and City Council meetings are available on the City Web site at www.sunnyvale.ca.gov several days prior to public meetings.
