SUNNYVALE SETS TOWN CENTER OUTREAch meeting

Will show plans, answer questions

SUNNYVALE, Calif.Sunnyvale will show off current plans for the Town Center redevelopment project at a special community outreach meeting scheduled for June 28. The midday meeting will feature City planners and representatives from both the developer and the demolition contractor.

The meeting is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Plaza del Sol, located at Frances and Evelyn Avenues in downtown Sunnyvale. The meeting is designed as a drop-in event. There are no formal speakers or presentations, but there will be City and developer representatives present to answer questions. In addition, there will be a representative from Devcon, the company that is razing the old mall structure, who will be able to discuss any construction mitigation questions the public might have.

A large portion of the old structure has already been demolished, and excavation for underground parking is well underway. The demolition is not expected to take more than a total of 12 weeks, and the excavation work about four weeks.

Parking for the meeting is available in the garage under Plaza del Sol, and public transportation is available by Caltrain and VTA Bus Lines 32, 53, 54, 55 and 140.
