SUNNYVALE STATE OF THE CITY CELEBRATION TO BE HELD JULY 4

SUNNYVALE, Calif. The 2007 Sunnyvale State of the City celebration will fill Washington Park this Fourth of July. The annual celebration is fast-becoming a Sunnyvale holiday tradition that typically draws more than 1,500 community members to Washington Park.

The two highlights of the celebration will be Mayor Otto Lee’s State of the City address, followed by presentation of a number of community awards. The awards, which came from community nominations, will be presented by Sunnyvale Councilmembers.

The State of the City celebration will have two bounce houses for the kids, along with several face painters. Live music from the popular Magnolia Jazz Band will fill the air and a $5 barbeque lunch will be available. Many City departments will have displays highlighting City services.

Washington Park is located at Washington and Pastoria Avenues, just a few blocks north of Sunnyvale’s civic center. The celebration begins at 11 a.m., and will run until 2 p.m. For more information, call the Communications Division at (408) 730-7535, TDD (408) 730-7501, or visit StateOfTheCity.inSunnyvale.com on the Web.
