SUNNYVALE LAUNCHES “PARKS OF THE FUTURE” WEB SURVEY
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation Department is developing a Parks of the Future plan to guide parks and recreation facilities planning for the next 20 years. The City is now seeking community input and involvement in order to better serve community needs in the future.
A community Web-based survey, designed for Sunnyvale residents, is now available on the project Web site. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete, and is designed to determine residents' perceptions of the Parks and Recreation Department's provision of services; assess residents' perceptions of facility and program needs; evaluate residents' priorities for future park and recreation efforts; and gather information to better understand park users and non-users. It also allows residents to provide additional comments and opinions about parks and recreation programming in Sunnyvale.
The survey will be available online through February. Parks and Recreation Department Director David Lewis encourages Sunnyvale residents to participate. “Resident comments, as recorded in this survey, will play a vital role in shaping our parks and recreation plans for the future,” Lewis said. “We’re strong believers that we create community through people, parks and programs.”
More information on the Parks of the Future project – and the survey – can be found on the Web at www.parksofthefuture.com. The online survey is in English; however Spanish and Mandarin versions may be requested by sending an e-mail to jshain@ci.sunnyvale.ca.us.
