MAYOR’S OPEN OFFICE HOURS A SUCCESS
Avoid long waits by making an appointment
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale Mayor Anthony (Tony) Spitaleri’s announcement of open office hours for the public to speak with him has been met with a resounding success. In fact, the public’s demand for the mayor’s time has resulted in a recommendation that an appointment be set prior to dropping by to speak with the mayor. In order to avoid possibly long waits, an appointment may be made by calling (408) 730-7473, TDD (408) 730-7501.
The mayor’s office is open to the public Monday afternoons. Spitaleri, who will serve as mayor for the next two years, has stated he intends to keep open public hours for as long as he is mayor.
Sunnyvale City Councilmembers and mayors have recognized both the importance and, sometimes, the difficulty of involving the community in government. Spitaleri’s creation of open office hours is a move to make the mayor more accessible to every resident of Sunnyvale and to provide everyone an opportunity to air their opinions, concerns and thoughts about the City of Sunnyvale.
Mayor Spitaleri’s open office hours are Mondays, except holidays, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The mayor’s office is located in City Hall, 456 W. Olive Ave., and is served by VTA Lines 54 and 22.
