SUNNYVALE PUBLIC SAFETY CONTINUES INVESTIGATION INTO DOUBLE HOMICIDE

 

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigators are continuing their investigation into a double homicide that occurred Sunday evening outside the Brass Rail bar, located at 160 E. Persian Drive in Sunnyvale. Two male victims suffered gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has identified the two victims as Benjamin Osegura, a 31-year old Menlo Park resident, and Jason William Gamino, a 29-year old San Mateo resident. The victims were acquaintances and were seated in a 2006 Range Rover parked in the front parking area of the Brass Rail at the time of the shooting.

Investigators are requesting the assistance of the public in locating a suspect in these killings. DPS detectives have identified Matthew Andrew O’Reilly, a 29-year old San Mateo resident, as the person possibly responsible for this shooting. O’Reilly was last seen driving a silver 2006 Nissan Altima with California license plate 5UFY655. O’Reilly is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone seeing the suspect or vehicle is asked to immediately contact police by dialing 911. Persons wanting to provide information about O’Reilly’s whereabouts are asked to contact DPS at (408) 730-7110.
