new education program for sunnyvale parents
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The City of Sunnyvale is offering parents and guardians a new series of free, monthly parent-education workshops, where they can learn practical parenting tips and discuss their children’s specific challenges and successes.
The workshops are scheduled for the third Thursday evening of each month. The first workshop, “Parenting Adolescents,” is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in Sunnyvale City Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Ave.
Participants will learn the developmental milestones of this age group and discuss how to respond to the common challenges of rebellion, social withdrawal, bullying, peer pressure and forging an individual identity.
