Staff Report
Ms. Merrill said her staff report would stand as submitted and noted the following:
The 2003 Study Issue "Explore Concept of Digital Marquee at Corner of Wolfe and El Camino to Promote City and City Co-sponsored Activities and Events," was eliminated by Council during the recent Fiscal 2003-04 Budget Reductions, as were many of the Capital Projects that were not directly related to health and safety issues. The Study Issues to Update the Parks and Recreation Sub Element and the Open Space Sub Element were deferred by Council for one year. However, the Study Issue, "Review of the Co-Sponsorship Policy will be coming before the Commission in August and there will likely be at least one study session for that item.
In response to Commissioner Pole, Director Walker stated staff conducted only a very cursory accounting of costs associated with a digital marquee and that no further involvement would follow since that study issue was eliminated by Council.
