Call to Order
Chairman Williams called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
Booker moved the minutes of the
January 2003 meeting be approved as
submitted, seconded by Gans and unanimously carried.
Gans moved the minutes of the December 2002 meeting be approved as submitted, seconded by Booker and unanimously carried.
Review of Suggestions
Suggestion #DPW-03-1-204, Vehicle Safety in Corp Yard:
The Summary Evaluation states that the suggestion of mirrors was discussed
during a Corp Yard Parking and Traffic Flow Issue Meeting on December 4, 2002.
The suggestion was submitted to Personnel on January 3, 2003. The Personnel
Board asked Mark Gregersen to find out when the speed bumps were installed.
Suggestor: Justin Chapel, Public Works.
Suggestion #DPR-03-1-205, Skate Park Security: The Personnel Board asked Mark Gregersen to have the City Attorney and Director of Public Safety review City policy on outdoor camera placement. Suggestor: Jack Mastilock, Parks & Rec.
Booker moved an award of $200 for Suggestion DPS-03-1-206, Gun Shot Wound Kits for Patrol Cars. Seconded by Williams. 4 votes in favor, 1 against. Chair Williams noted that Gans thought the award amount was too much. Suggestor: Camron Bailey, Public Safety.
Gans moved an award of $150 for Suggestion #DPW-03-1-208, Disposable Cameras in Designated City Vehicles. Seconded by Booker and unanimously approved. Suggestor: Kim Molina, Public Works.
Other
Outreach Review Task Force Nominations
There were no nominations.
Boards and Commissions Work Plan
Due to the specialized nature of the Personnel
Board, no changes to the current Work Plan were recommended.
Election of Officers
Gans moved that the Personnel Board retain the
current Chair and Vice-Chair until the regularly scheduled election in July
2003. Seconded by Bushman and unanimously approved.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:47 p.m.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Personnel Board will be held on Monday, March 17, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
