2014 Sunnyvale Community Awards


During the annual State of the City event, Sunnyvale honors exceptional members of our community. Nominations are now open for the 2014 Community Awards, to be presented immediately following the mayor’s State of the City address, Saturday, September 13, 11 a.m., at the new Seven Seas Park on Morse Avenue. This year’s prestigious awards include:

· Distinguished Resident of the Year

· Outstanding High School Senior of the Year

· Outstanding Community Volunteer

· Outstanding Educator of the Year

· Outstanding Businessperson of the Year

· Outstanding Contribution to the Arts

· Outstanding Environmental Achievement

Following the nomination period, which closes Friday, August 15, a committee chosen by Sunnyvale Mayor Jim Griffith will make award recipient recommendations. Mayor Griffith will make the final decision on the above award category winners, as well as the selection for the Mayor's Award of Excellence.
