Heritage Preservation Commission Agendas, Reports and Minutes
HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION CALENDAR 2003
* In the event of a normally scheduled date falling on a Holiday, an alternate date will be scheduled, as shown. Please Note: The shaded Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting dates indicate regularly scheduled meetings. Heritage Preservation Commission meetings will be held on the alternate dates shown only if an application has been submitted and scheduled for that date. The above is a tentative schedule based on submittal date. Submitted applications will be assigned to a specific Heritage Preservation Commission meeting date after a determination that the application is complete including acceptance by the City of any required technical reports. Where the City is required to notify responsible agencies in the case of an Environmental Impact Report, the indicated timetable must be extended. Application process is described on reverse side . . CLOSING DATES All applications and required exhibits/materials must be delivered to the Planning Division by 5:00 p.m. on closing the dates (application filing deadlines) indicated on the reverse side. Applications lacking required information may not be accepted. When an application is filed, a preliminary environmental determination is made and the project is scheduled tentatively for an Administrative, Heritage Preservation Commission or Planning Commission Public Hearing. PROJECT REVIEW COMMITTEE At the time an application is submitted, a Project Review Committee meeting date will be assigned. The Project Review Committee (PRC) normally meets on a Monday morning at 10:00 a.m., in the West Conference Room of City Hall. The PRC is made up of staff representatives from various City Divisions (Building; Crime Prevention; Engineering; Fire Prevention; Planning; Traffic; Trees; and Water Pollution). The PRC reviews all applications for technical compliance with City Standards and Specifications and final environmental determination (Categorically Exempt, Negative Declaration, or EIR). At the same meeting, it is also determined if an application is complete. The applicant will be notified of the specific requirements to make an application complete. Incomplete applications cannot be scheduled for public hearings. Once an application is determined to be complete, it will be assigned to a Heritage Preservation Commission, Administrative or Planning Commission meeting date. The deadline for submittal of missing material is usually Tuesday, 12:00 p.m., following the PRC meeting. Major changes or information requirements resulting from the initial review will return to PRC meeting. Review by PRC does not constitute a recommendation of approval or denial of project. Applicants should attend. HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARINGS Heritage Preservation Planning Commission Public Hearings are normally held at 7:00 p.m. in the West Conference Room at City Hall on the dates indicated on the "Meeting Calendar." This hearing is the opportunity for Heritage Preservation Commission members, proponents and opponents to be heard in a public forum. You should attend. Appeals from the decision of the Heritage Preservation Commission may be made within 15 days of the date of the public hearing. Projects requiring a Use Permit or Special Development Permit, separate filing must be made for the Planning Commission approval. For effective visual presentation, please ask a copy of "How to Make Your Presentation More Effective" publication from the Project Planner. PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARINGS Planning Commission Public Hearings are normally held on the second and fourth Mondays at 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS The Sunnyvale City Council usually meets on Tuesdays, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Some applications automatically go to City Council for their final decision, others go only on appeal. The Council meetings are normally 15 days following the Commission meetings. Appeal dates will be determined at the time of the appeal. You should attend if your application requires a Council decision.
