DRAFT DOWNTOWN SPECIFIC PLAN NOW AVAILABLE!!!!
The City of Sunnyvale Planning Division is responsible for the Citys physical and socio-economic planning, including land use and environmental review, preparation of land use policies, and provision of technical assistance and planning information to the public. The Division advises and assists the City Council, Planning Commission, and Heritage Preservation Commission in matters related to the development and physical improvement of the City. The Division conducts land use analyses of proposals for site development plans and zoning map and general plan amendments.
Title 19 of the Sunnyvale Municipal Code specifies the zoning regulations for the City. Each property is located within a specific zoning district which determines the allowable land use and applicable development standards. Allowable land uses include use type as well as density/intensity of such uses. The development standards regulate building characteristics such as setbacks, lot coverage, building height, etc.
This web site focuses on providing general information regarding the physical development (setbacks, lot coverage, floor area ratio, required parking, etc.) permitted for the various zoning districts and uses. For specific information about a certain property, please contact the Planning Division at (408) 730-7444 or e-mail at planning@ci.sunnyvale.ca.us.
