About The Sunnyvale Collection Whether you have lived here all your life or you’ve just arrived, Sunnyvale is your community. The Sunnyvale Collection is a place where you can experience your community – its rich past and its dynamic present. |
Using The Sunnyvale Collection The Sunnyvale Collection includes books on Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco; City of Sunnyvale and other government documents; oral histories; videotapes; newspapers; clippings; and web resources.
| The core of the Sunnyvale Collection is
located to the left of the library’s Information Center. But Sunnyvale
resources are also located in the magazine collection, the video
collection, the business collection, the adult nonfiction collection, the
Management Technology Library, and in archival storage, as well as online.
The purpose of this guide is to present an overview of the Collection, and
highlight selected resources. Ask at the Information Center if you need
any help locating Sunnyvale resources.
Most of the items in the Sunnyvale Collection are for use only in the library. One exception is videotapes, which can be checked out. Some of the titles in the Sunnyvale Collection may also have copies in the adult or children’s collection, which can be checked out.
|
You will find books and oral histories sharing our
community’s past alongside government reports, newspapers and business
annual reports that document our present and plan for our
future.
And, hopefully, you will leave your own record. We welcome you to actively participate in the Sunnyvale Collection by sharing photographs, oral histories, newsletters and other reflections of your unique involvement in our community. It is the mission of the Sunnyvale Collection to preserve and share a record of the evolution of our community, past and present. The collection focuses on Sunnyvale, the Silicon Valley and San Francisco. We follow the definition of Silicon Valley used by the Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network – roughly Santa Clara County and adjacent areas of San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Alameda Counties. |
