Local Health and Safety Fair April 28

Sunnyvale, CA -- The City of Sunnyvale, Sunnyvale Rotary Club, and more than forty local agencies are teaming up to host a free community Health and Safety Fair at the Columbia Neighborhood Center on Saturday, April 28, 2001 from 11 AM to 3 PM.

The family-oriented fair will provide parents the opportunity to apply for free or low-cost health insurance for their children. It will also have free health screenings, free fingerprinting, bone marrow registration, a bike rodeo, and information on subjects ranging from bicycle safety to lead poisoning. There will be public safety vehicles including a Life Flight Helicopter, demonstrations, activities, entertainment and a raffle.

The ever-popular Perfection on Wheels BMX Bike Stunt Team will put on a "big air ramp show" at 11:30, 12:30 and 1:30.

The Columbia Neighborhood Center, a partnership between the City of Sunnyvale and the Sunnyvale Elementary School District, was opened in 1996 to improve the health and quality of life of children and adults living in north Sunnyvale.
