Sunnyvale Health and Safety Fair April 27
Sunnyvale, CA (04-17-02) -- The City of Sunnyvale and more than 30 local agencies are teaming up to host a free community Health and Safety Fair at the Columbia Neighborhood Center, 785 Morse Ave. on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The family-oriented fair will feature free health screenings, fingerprinting, a bike rodeo, bicycle safety inspections, and a helmet fitting station. Police and fire demonstrations, activities, entertainment, food, and prize drawings will delight all ages. The ever-popular Perfection on Wheels BMX Bike Stunt Team will perform at various times throughout the day.
"Our lives can get so hectic that we forget to take time out for our health and well-being," said Katherine Chappelear, Manager of Youth & Family Services for the City. "This event is a chance to slow down and have a good time while picking up tips and resources to improve your family's health and safety awareness."
The Columbia Neighborhood Center, a partnership between the City of Sunnyvale and the Sunnyvale Elementary School District, was opened in 1996 to improve the health and quality of life of children and adults living in Sunnyvale. For more information about the fair, please call (408) 730-7599.
