Law Enforcement Torch Run

What:
Ceremonial carrying of the Special Olympics torch to the Northern California games in Stockton.

When:
The torch is scheduled to be passed from the Santa Clara Police Department to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety on Friday, May 31, 2001 at approximately 2:40 pm (the event is often ahead of schedule).

Where:
Members of Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety will receive the torch from the Santa Clara Police Department at El Camino Real at Halford and will hand it off to representatives of the Mountain View Police Department at El Camino and Bernardo.

Why:
Annual fundraiser and public awareness event for the Special Olympics.

Who:
Law enforcement agencies throughout the United States and over 30 foreign countries. Members of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
