Sunnyvale Public Safety Introduces Public Hotline
Sunnyvale, CA (10/24/02) – The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety has introduced a new hotline, 524-COPS (408-524-2677). This is not a replacement for dialing 9-1-1 in case of an emergency, but a way for community members to call and talk directly with personnel about public safety issues, provide feedback, and let them know how they are doing. The hotline is available to all members of the community on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week.
The Public Safety Department is committed to addressing the needs and concerns of the community. Chief Irwin Bakin invites the public to call 524-COPS when any issue arises. “I expect this will be a positive step in keeping communication open between the community we serve and their Public Safety Department,” said Chief Bakin.
Anonymity and confidentiality of any information provided on 524-COPS will be honored at the caller’s request.
