Sunnyvale, CA (12/23/02) – The City of Sunnyvale and the Pacific Industrial and Business Association (PIBA) are holding a workshop, Sustainability 101, on January 8, 2003, in the Sunnyvale City Council Chambers at 456 West Olive Ave.  The purpose of the workshop is to help businesses and others in the community learn more about what the term “sustainability” means, how it can be incorporated into business operations, and the challenges and benefits of pursuing sustainable practices.

Practitioners will address how to develop guidelines and principles of sustainable development among stakeholders, incorporate basic sustainability tools, and review best practices in the public and private sectors.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm, with registration and a light continental breakfast from 8:00-8:30 am.  The workshop is free to Sunnyvale residents and business community members.  Please call PIBA at (650) 965-2436 to reserve a seat prior to January 6, 2003 or email PIBA at piba@piba.org.
