A regular meeting of the Sunnyvale Planning Commission was held on May 28, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, with Chair Brown presiding.
Members Present: Chair Brown; Vice Chair Simons; Comms. Babcock, Chu, Lee, Moylan, Satterlee

PUBLIC HEARING:
Approval of Minutes

Vice Chair Simons made a motion to approve the minutes of April 29, 2002 with minor corrections to the Summary Minutes. Comm. Comm. Chu seconded. |

Vice Chair Simons made a motion to approve the minutes of May 13, 2002 with corrections to the Project Number 2001-0191 & 0192. Comm. Satterlee seconded. |

Report on Council Meeting
Ms. Ryan, Planning Officer, noted that on May 14, 2002 City Council had a joint study session with the Planning Commission on the Moffett Park Specific Plan.
The City Council also approved the final annexation action for the 25 properties on Crawford Drive and effective June 1, 2002, the 25 properties will be a part of the City of Sunnyvale.
Furthermore, the City Council also considered the Juniper/Menlo Equities application that same evening. The City Council approved the project in accordance with Planning Commission recommendations with additional conditions requiring that architectural design for the other campuses shall be returned to Planning Commission for review.
Ms. Ryan reported that on May 21, 2002, the Plaza Design Concept was scheduled for City Council's consideration but was continued to June 4, 2002 due to the heavy volume of items.
She further reported that City Council approved the down payment assistance program and eligibility criteria for teachers and city employees with modification that the loan term not to exceed 30 years.

Comm. Satterlee made a motion on Item #2002-0205 to adopt the Negative Declaration and recommend to City Council approval of the Single-Story Overlay Combining District. Comm. Moylan seconded. Motion carried unanimously 7-0. |
Oral Communications
Chair Brown congratulated Comm. Babcock for the Distinguished Citizen Award of the Year.
Vice Chair Simons commented that he saw in the national television, Chair Brown being interviewed during the Pancake Breakfast Fundraising event Saturday, May 25, 2002 for the All American City trip. He also congratulated Comm. Babcock for her award.
Chair Brown announced that Thursday, May 30, 2002 is Tip-a-Cop Fundraising Event for the Special Olympics to be held at Spoons from 5PM to 9PM. She invited the public to come to this worthwhile event.
