City of Sunnyvale Planning Commission APPROVED |
A regular meeting of the Sunnyvale Planning Commission was held on April 14, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, with Chair Simons presiding.
Members Present: Chair Simons; Vice Chair Babcock, Comms Chu, Lee, Moylan, Satterlee and Swegles

Comm. Swegles made a motion to approve the minutes of March 24, 2003 with one modification. Comm. Moylan seconded. |

Motion carried 5-0 with Chair Simons and Comm. Lee abstaining. |
Report on Council Meeting
Trudi Ryan, Planning Officer, reported that on March 25, City Council considered a project located at Mary & Iowa and approved the project with a rezone to R-2 and directed the applicant to redesign the project to be reviewed first by the Planning Commission and later by City Council.
Ms. Ryan reported that on April 8, the City Council held a study session on the Moffett Park Environmental Impact Report. She noted that there have been other study sessions with the Planning Commission conducted prior to April 8, 2003 study session.
Furthermore at the public hearing on April 8, the City Council considered the Library Sub-element and approved the sub-element with Planning Commission's recommendations.

Chu made a motion on Item #2003-0055 to approve the Negative Declaration and Special Development Permit with additional conditions that 1) the applicant shall develop a parking management plan subject to the review and approval of the Community Development Director and 2) that design modifications to the front entry shall be explored. Comm. Swegles seconded. Motion carried unanimously 7-0. |

7. Announcements to City Council
Comm. Swegles stated that his son was ordered to leave for Iraq tomorrow. He recommended putting his son's picture in the "Wall of Honor."
Vice Chair Babcock recommended Comm. Lee's picture be in the "Wall of Honor." She stated that Comm. Lee was recently called to active duty in the U.S. Navy.
Oral Communications
Ms. Ryan reported that recruitment for boards and commission is open and the City is looking for volunteers.
Vice Chair Babcock invited the public to attend the Bianchi Barn Dedication to be held on Saturday, May 17, at 7:30 pm at Heritage Park. The dedication is open to the public with a nominal charge for food and beverages.
Ms. Ryan suggested the definition of Noise as "unwanted sound."
