Place Sunnyvale Public Library Materials on Hold

If the item you want is checked out to another user, you may place a hold on it. The Library will notify you when the item is available for pick up.

To place a hold:

Pause and Reactivate Holds

Pausing a hold allows you to maintain your place in the hold list while you are away. You will continue to move up the hold queue until you are first in line. If the hold is still paused when a copy becomes available, it will be given to the person next in line. When you choose to reactivate your hold, the next copy returned will be processed for you.

To pause your hold:

  • Log in to your account.
  • Call 408-730-7300. Have your Sunnyvale Public Library card ready.
  • Visit the Library for assistance.

Request a Book from Another Library (Link+)

Link+ is a consortium of libraries. Sunnyvale Public Library and other libraries have resumed Link+ service.

  1. Search the Library's Catalog.
  2. If the Library does not own a copy, click "Search other resources" in the top right corner of the search results.
  3. Click "Search Link+ for additional items." Link+ will re-do the search in a new tab.
  4. Click "Request it" for the item. A small window will pop up.
  5. Select "Sunnyvale Public Library" and "Submit."
  6. Enter your account information and "Submit."
