Summer Reading Program

June 1 through Aug. 31

Our Summer Reading Program is online this year. You can register, log books and complete activities for badges, all online.

Grab a book. Read for fun. Challenge yourself. Enjoy special virtual programs, events and activities with the Sunnyvale Public Library's Summer Reading Program. You can even win a prize for reading. (The limit is one prize per person while supplies last.)

Programs for Children, Teens, Adults and Adult ESL Learners

Register and record books online. If you would like to record your books on paper, print logs are available below. To claim your prize, you will need to be registered and log the total number of books online.

Earn a Prize

All participants who complete the program win a prize:

  • Children (ages 0 to grade 5)
    • Read TEN or more books
    • Win free book
  • Teens (grades 6 to 12)
    • Read THREE or more books
    • Win free book
  • Adults (ages 18+)
    • Read THREE or more books
    • Win $5 Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library Gift Certificate

Earn digital badges for completing other optional activities along the way.

Earn a Chance to Win a Grand Prize

All participants who complete the program may also enter for a chance to win a larger age-appropriate prize at the end of the summer. Winners in each age group (children, teens, adults) will win a bundle of gift cards including those from Leigh’s Favorite Books and more. Children and Teens can earn up to FIVE chances to win the grand prize. Adults can earn ONE chance to win the grand prize.

Find Summer Reading Events

The annual Summer Reading Program is designed to promote a love of reading and encourage children, teens and adults to read during the summer. The Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library provide funding for the program.
