Second Annual Sunnyvale Public Library Outdoor Expo

When: Saturday, June 22, 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Spend an afternoon with hiking, gardening, bicycling, and beekeeping groups on the sunny Sunnyvale Library plaza!

  • Collect trail maps and camping guides;
  • Learn about camps, swimming, and walking groups in and around Sunnyvale;
  • Meet beekeeping experts and Master Gardeners;
  • Find out how you can volunteer on the trails and in our parks;
  • Explore an outdoorsy virtual reality experience with our Oculus Go;
  • Bring your child to join in a garden craft; and
  • Take a tree walk with an arborist from the Sunnyvale Urban Forest Advocates.

We will roll out the library B.I.K.E., with outdoor guides for every part of your adventures in woods and streams.

Virtual Reality: Outdoors

When: 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. during the Outdoor Expo

Have you ever been curious about what it’s like to step into another world? Try Virtual Reality at the Sunnyvale Public Library Outdoor Expo! Users 13 and older can try the Oculus Go headset and enjoy a brief demo of a virtual outdoor experience.

Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Users must be 13 years or older. Children under 17 years old must have signed permission from a parent or guardian.

Tree Walk

When: 2 p.m. AND 3 p.m. during the Outdoor Expo

Take a tree walk with an arborist from Sunnyvale Urban Forest Advocates and learn about the trees that beautify the Library.

Sprout a Seed: Craft for Kids

When: 2 to 3:30 p.m. during the Outdoor Expo

Inviting all little growers ages 3 and up to make a seed bag topper to take home at the Outdoor Expo! While supplies last.
