OverDrive Is Moving!

Sunnyvale Public Library now has its own digital collection on OverDrive (Libby).

Until now, Sunnyvale has been part of the Northern California Digital Library consortium on OverDrive. That means Sunnyvale card holders have been able to borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks from a collection that is also available to card holders at other libraries, such as Mountain View, Santa Clara City and Palo Alto.

As of July 1, when you log in through the Library's website or in the Libby app, you will be asked to find Sunnyvale Public Library's new standalone collection. Log in with your Sunnyvale Public Library card to borrow items and place holds.

Here's what the change means for you:

  • If you already borrowed AND downloaded a title, you will still be able to access the title until the lending period ends.
  • If you have holds on items in Northern California Digital Library, the holds will get moved over to the new OverDrive collection, as long as Sunnyvale owns the title.
  • If Sunnyvale does not own the title, you may recommend that we purchase it. Log in with your Sunnyvale library card and PIN.
  • The new site will be available on July 1.
  • You can download the Libby app for iOS and Android devices to use Libby on the go.
