The new Community Swim Center replacing the Washington Pool is one step closer to construction now that the City Council has approved the conceptual design. The new facility will significantly improve recreational swim, water play, swim lesson instruction, and therapeutic opportunities for the community. In addition to a new pool and pool deck, the Swim Center will have a splash pad for children, pool locker rooms, restrooms, showers, solar heating for pool water, a community room, and office and storage space. The City will enter the design phase of the project to refine the approved concepts and develop plans to bid for construction. The Swim Center is currently scheduled for completion in 2019.
