Learn how to declutter your life and eliminate needless waste with author and zero waste lifestyle expert Bea Johnson. She will appear at the third free event in our Sustainability Speaker Series.
When: Wednesday, August 30, 7 to 8:30 p.m. (refreshments starting at 6:30 p.m.)
Where: City Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Ave.
Johnson will discuss how the five R’s – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot – can help you save money, eat healthier, and simplify your life.
With our community’s upcoming food scraps collection program, we have a unique opportunity to drastically reduce the amount of waste sent to the landfill and choose a lifestyle that's better for our health and the environment. Johnson's tips on zero-waste living can help us make the most of this opportunity.
Johnson is the author of the blog and book, Zero Waste Home, and has inspired thousands of people worldwide to live simply and reduce their waste. She has been described by The New York Times as “the Priestess of Waste-Free Living.” Johnson and her family produce only one quart of waste in a year.
