Town Center Is Now CityLine Sunnyvale

Big changes are underway at a project in the heart of downtown Sunnyvale—including a new name. The former Sunnyvale Town Center project is now called CityLine Sunnyvale.

The new name plays on the idea that the area, with its mix of residential, business and retail, will “connect the dots” between work, life and leisure.

Earlier this year, CityLine Sunnyvale developer STC Venture LLC announced that a lease had been signed with Whole Foods Market. The market will occupy the ground floor of a building at Murphy and McKinley avenues.

As announced in October, the building’s second floor will house a 12-screen AMC Theaters multiplex. The building is under design, with a grand opening planned for summer of 2019.

Crews have resumed construction on the project’s residential buildings, slated for completion in 2018, and finished temporary improvements to Redwood Square, a central plaza area located along McKinley Avenue between Taaffe and Murphy avenues.

Current construction work also includes extending Murphy Avenue to connect with McKinley Avenue.
