Fair Housing Presentations on 4/18

Join the Fair Housing Law Project for a free presentation on April 18 in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Presentation for Property Managers and Landlords
When:
Wednesday, April 18, 10:30 a.m. to noon 
Where:
Council Chambers, City Hall, 456 W. Olive Ave.

If you're a landlord or property manager, learn the answers to questions such as:

  • Can you refuse to rent to a family because they have children?
  • Does your no-pet policy apply to service or companion animals?
  • Are you familiar with disability-related accommodation requests and how to handle them?
  • Do you know the difference between reasonable accommodation and reasonable modification?

Tenants' Rights and Responsibilities Presentation

If you're a tenant, learn the answers to questions such as:

  • Do you know where you can go for free help if you think someone has discriminated against you?
  • Do you know how much time do you have to file a complaint for housing discrimination?
  • Have you been denied housing because you have children?
