Library Art Contest

Help us redesign the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library tote. Create an original piece of art showing us “what about the library makes you smile.” 

One adult and one youth winner will have their artwork printed on canvas bags, sold by the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library. We will frame and temporarily display the artwork from additional winners in each age group in the Library. 

Who can participate? 

Sunnyvale residents, ages 3 and up

How long does the contest run?

Submissions accepted beginning Oct. 1 and ending Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced in early November. 

How do I participate?

Bring in your original artwork, along with a completed submission form at the Information Desk in the Sunnyvale Public Library, 665 W. Olive Ave.

  • Artwork must be 8.5" x 11" on paper no thicker than 3/8"
  • Accepted media: paint, crayon, charcoal, and pencils.
  • NOT accepted: photographs, digital art, sculpture, collage and watercolor 

Judging Criteria:

  • Interpretation of theme
  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Artistic merit
