Housing Design Standards Workshop 9/23

The standards the City of Sunnyvale uses to review housing developments are changing. California cities must now use standards that involve no personal judgment. The state is requiring these changes to address California's ongoing housing shortage. Their intent is to streamline local review by cities.

Sunnyvale will be developing new standards with a team of planners and architects. Our goal is to have standards that support diverse, high-quality housing in Sunnyvale.

Join this initial meeting to learn about:

  • How you can take part in the process
  • New state laws (SB 35 and SB 330) and our response
  • Our existing design priorities
  • Difference between objective and subjective design standards
  • Where and how we will apply the new standards in Sunnyvale

When: Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.

  • Join on Zoom
