Sunnyvale’s New Climate Score

Sunnyvale’s greenhouse gas emissions are 44% below 1990 levels. This new score is a big home run! We are excited to see these results.

We recognize special circumstances drove some of these gains. The COVID-19 pandemic played a big role in Sunnyvale’s current climate score. Despite the pandemic we are still seeing reductions in emissions. Reductions are coming from sectors like electricity.

The City aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The 2020 Climate Action Playbook is our plan to get there. Check out some Key Moves such as solar adoption or electrifying city buildings.
