Event Volunteers Needed 5/14

We are looking for energetic volunteers for our new event. The Sunnyvale Cultural Celebration joins the Hands on the Arts Festival, Saturday, May 14. This new event will celebrate the diversity of our Sunnyvale community. Hands on the Arts Festival activities will showcase cultures.

 When: May 13 and May 14
Where: Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive

What You'll Do

You will help the professional artists by organizing, prepping, re-stocking and cleaning-up supplies. You will also help kids with fun art projects. You may help with general customer service at the event.

We prefer if you can work a full day. But half-day shifts are also available.

Volunteer shifts include:

  • Set-up (Friday, May 13 - DAY PRIOR TO EVENT): 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • All-Day: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Lunch provided)
  • Morning Shift: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Afternoon Shift: noon to 4 p.m.

Register to Volunteer

You must preregister to volunteer. We can't accept walk-up volunteers on the day of the event.

You must be at least 13 to volunteer.

Returning Volunteers

Have you volunteered with the City in the last 18 months? If yes, send us an email and include the following information:

  • Full name
  • Phone Number
  • Tell us if you are a Teen (13-17 years) or Adult
  • Shift preference
  • T-shirt size

Note: If you turned 18 since you last volunteered, follow the instructions for New Volunteers.

New Volunteers

  1. Complete the Community Services Application
  2. Email us with the following information:
    • Full name
    • Phone Number
    • Tell us if you are a Teen (13-17 years) or Adult
    • Shift preference
    • T-shirt size
  3. Get fingerprinted

Fingerprinting
If you are over 18 you must get fingerprinted before the event. Once we receive your application we will tell you how to schedule an appointment with the City. There is no cost to volunteers.

Deadline: May 1 is the last day to get fingerprinted for this event.

Hands on the Arts Prep Parties

Volunteers are also needed to help prepare art supplies for the event. Typical Prep Party activities include: counting, cutting, gluing and separating supplies. Currently scheduled prep parties are listed below. Additional dates may be added.

  • Tuesday, April 19, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 21, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 28, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
