Current law enacted by Assembly Bill 481, requires law enforcement agencies to get authorization from their governing bodies for military equipment (examples below).

City Council adopted a Military Equipment Use Policy on April 5, 2022. The related City ordinance was effective May 26, 2022. City Council must consider the military use policy for renewal each year. They also review an annual report showing the equipment inventory and its use.
